letter
Dear Friends,
Sam Pesin is correct and
speaks for our Local when he says that we oppose the Liberty State Park
South End Millionaires' Marina proposal. We do. Private
interests have spent years trying to get their greedy hands on this tiny bit
of people's space and were in not for Sam and the Liberty State Park
friends, we would have nothing but a water park, a golf course,
marinas and parking lots, instead of a glorious testiment to the promise of
America.
We represent the workers who
have devoted their working lives to land stewardship. It is workers
such as these that have left us our State and National Parks and Forests to
care for and maintain for generations to come.
Each time we choose public
space and public assets over private interests we recommit to the American
spirit of generosity and small 'd' democracy. When balanced against
the need for open space, there is hardly a need to for docking the yachts of
the well-heeled and well-connected.
Thank you Friends of Liberty State Park
and all who stand in the breach for for the soul of America, as oppose to
its wallet.
In Solidarity,
Hetty Rosenstein
President, CWA Local 1037
